The intent of this fund is to forge connections between Vermont-based organizations and Middlebury College students. By providing a financial incentive for start-ups, small companies, venture firms, and innovative non-profits/NGOs to hire Middlebury interns, the fund enables students to gain practical work experience in entrepreneurial environments while benefitting organizations that have the potential to contribute significantly to the economic well being of the state.
Participating sponsors will be reimbursed for 50% of their internship expense for a stipend of up to $4,000.
The succession priority for internships is as follows:
1. Fresh Tracks Capital, and/or its affiliated companies in Vermont
2. Other companies/businesses in the Champlain Valley and Vermont
3. Non-profit or governmental organizations based in Vermont and having demonstrated success in innovative approaches to identifying unmet needs and carrying out its mission.
If it is not possible to find sufficient opportunities within the region, then consideration will be given to proposals from similar organizations outside the region.
